Wendy Pérez Bereijo’s description of the creative process: ‘Post-Data was a journey of acceptance. All of us who have been immersed in this process have understood, in a concrete practice, what it means to feel a naked person, to experience pain and to see the vulnerabilities of the other. This helped me to understand that we need to welcome the Other with a capital “Other” (his or her history, culture, body and, most importantly, relationships). This journey was embodied in concrete stories, in reflective debates, in meetings with friends, in tears and hugs. All this represented a vivid process of creating art, which materialised as a unity in a play. It may be said that it was not perfect, nor the best of its kind, but one thing is certain, it was experienced by us as the best work in the world.”

Presentation of the book – The Creative Passion of Fernando Muraca.

HAVANA: 21 May 2022, Cuba
Presentation of the book – The Creative Passion of Fernando Muraca.

Collaborators: DAB Project, Fr. Felix Varela Cultural Centre.

The Spanish language edition of the book, ‘La pasión creativa’, is presented for the first time in Havana, Cuba, at the Centro Cultural P. Félix Varela.
The Spanish version arose from the relationship between the author and Cuban actor Arnaldo Galban, who, on meeting him, expressed his pleasure and desire that it be translated into Spanish so that it could be read in Cuba and by all Spanish-speaking people.
“In this book, the author wants to convey an approach based on relationship. Who is the artist who embraces the idea of reciprocity and what does he do to control the emotional storm that is generated by shaping matter with his hands? What happens if, while working, you manage to establish a close dialogue with others that reciprocates with the warmth of friendship?

Visible and invisible: the relationship as bridge.

3.5.2022 – Fernando Muraca – Lecture/Workshop
Visible and invisible: the relationship as bridge.
The boys came in and I could not greet them with words because I did not know Spanish. At a certain point as they arrived, I realised that each one was different, with his or her own story, and I started to draw empty hearts on the blackboard, one for each of them. Then we started and I asked them to write on each heart the words with which they felt most identified. We started, from the heart, as if we had known each other forever. We had Erika in common, we were all her friends.
